Tiropita Strifti - Feta Cheese Pie

Tiropita Strifti is a heavenly Greek cheese pie made with crisp filo pastry and twisted into a beautiful spiral. It is HEAVENLY 🤤 and I can’t believe just how easy it was to make!

Ingredients

  • 250g cream cheese (Philadelphia or alternative)

  • 400g feta , crumbled

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tbsp course semolina

  • 50g fresh mint, finely chopped

  • Salt and crushed black pepper

  • 12-15 sheets of phyllo

  • Melted butter or oil to grease

15-20 minutes to cook | Serves 6

Method

  1. Whisk together the cream cheese and eggs.

  2. Add the crumbled feta, semolina, fresh mint and seasonings, and continue stirring until the mixture is well combined.

  3. Take 2 sheets of phyllo and grease the top sheet with butter or oil. At the bottom of the sheet, place a few tbsp of the cheese mixture and spread out to form a log.

  4. Roll from the bottom of the phyllo until wrapped into a long log. Then create a spiral for the middle of the tiropita.

  5. Repeat this process with the rest of the cheese mixture and phyllo sheets. Continue wrapping around the logs until a big spiral forms.

  6. Brush the top with melted butter or oil and bake for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius fan.
