Pasteli with a twist
Pasteli… with a lil twist😮💨 if you’ve not heard or tried this two ingredient powerhouse of a snack before, then take this as you sign✨
Ingredients
200g white sesame seeds
50g black sesame seeds
250ml good quality runny honey
40 minutes to prepare | Yields 9-12 pieces
Method
Place the white sesame seeds in a frying pan over a medium heat. Toast them for 10-12 minutes until they develop a light golden appearance, whilst continuously stirring the pan to prevent any from burning.
Set the toasted sesame seeds aside. Using the same pan, toast the black sesame seeds for 5 minutes until fragrant. Add them to the same bowl. Then pour the honey on the pan. As it starts to bubble and foam, this will be when the sesame seeds can go back in the pan.
Continuously stir to combine well for 5 minutes.
In a baking tray pre-lined with parchment paper, (I used a square one), place the sesame seed mixture and press into the tray.
Leave to cool for 20 minutes (or longer if you prefer a crunchy texture instead of a chewy one) before cutting into pieces and serving. I recommend storing in the fridge.
