Homemade Tzatziki

Make the best, easy, and authentic homemade tzatziki recipe you'll ever need! Creamy, refreshing, and perfect for pairing with chicken gyros, this Greek classic is a must-try.

 

Ingredients

  • 4 baby cucumbers

  • 500g Greek yoghurt

  • 40g fresh dill, finely chopped

  • 2 heaped tsp dried mint

  • 2 tsp dried oregano

  • 2 tsp minced garlic

  • Salt to taste (I used approx 1

  • heaped tsp pink Himalayan salt)

  • 1/2 lemon, squeezed

  • 2-3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

  • Pinch of paprika

10 mins to cook | Serves 4


Method

  1. Slice both ends of the baby cucumbers and grate them. Place them into a clean tea towel or kitchen roll, and drain out the liquid. Then place the drained grated cucumber in a bowl along with the yoghurt.

  2. Mix in the seasonings, garlic, oil and lemon juice. Check the taste and add more of any of the ingredients to your liking.

  3. Once mixed, top with a bit of oil and the paprika. Enjoy with warm pitta bread, crisps or anything you can dip with!
